I have been married to my wife Patty for 32 years. We have three children. Phillip (29), Olivia (25) She works with me on the family farm. Maria (21) is currently a college student at NDSU majoring in Natural Resources Management.

I went to NDSU for 2 years before returning home to help my father farm. I have been no-till farming for 33 years and running a cow/calf herd. For 23 years my brother and I owned and operated a drill rental business called Breker Drill Rental.

Conservation practices have always been important to me and I have served on the Wild Rice Soil Conservation District board for 24 years. The practices I use are no-till (33 years), strip till (23 years), cover crops (14 years), tiling (8 years), and rotational grazing including cover crops.

I was a founding board member and the first US Chairman of the Manitoba-North Dakota Zero Till Farmers Association. I am also a founder & Chairman of the Conservation Cropping Systems Project (CCSP) located in Forman, ND. CCSP does long term notill rotation studies and work with new ways to use cover crops. My family has been active in our local Catholic Church for over 30 years.
